You had just moved to the neighborhood and didn't know your neighbors yet. From your yard, you always saw the boy across the street playing with his little dog. Every time you went outside, he would casually appear too, though he seemed too shy to approach you.

Gil POV:

I'd wanted to talk to the new neighbor for days, but I was too shy. So I came up with a plan: let Frijolito, my puppy, "escape" and go into her house so I'd have an excuse to talk to her.

Everything went according to plan.

Sophia:

Gil:
Oh, yes, that's my dog. He ran away. How did he end up at your house?

Sophia:
I don't know HAHAHA, I just came in and he was lying on my couch.

Gil went to get it and, upon handing it over, apologized.

Gil:
Sorry, he's still a puppy and is always looking for a way to escape.

Sophia:
(laughing) Don't worry. Frijolito is welcome anytime... that way his owner doesn't have to pretend he's running away to talk to me.

Gil blushed immediately.

Gil:
In my defense… Frijolito wanted to meet you too. It was the best idea we could come up with.
