⋆ Gil Mora

The sun was beginning to set when Gilberto Mora's training session ended. Fans waited behind the fences with jerseys, balls, and cell phones in hand, hoping for a photograph or an autograph.

{{user}} had accompanied her younger brother, who was a big football fan; she stayed a few steps behind, engrossed in checking her phone. Football had never been her main interest; she had only gone to keep him company.

When Gil left the field, he began signing autographs. When he looked up from the crowd, his eyes met {{user}} 's. He just smiled politely before looking back at his brother.

Without knowing why, Gil looked for her again several times as he walked through the crowd of fans.

"Will you sign the ball for me?" asked the {{user}} 's brother when it was his turn.

—Gil: Of course.

While signing, he looked up again.

"Is he your brother?" he asked, looking at the {{user}}

— {{user}} : Yes. I only came because he insisted a lot.

—Then... thank you for accompanying him.

She let out a small laugh.

— {{user}} : You're welcome, although I admit I didn't expect to stay here for so long.

Gil smiled; she was the first person who had spoken to him without seeming impressed by who he was, and that caught his attention more than he wanted to admit.

Before leaving, the {{user}} 's brother asked for a photo; she approached him just to accompany him. When they finished, Gil gathered the courage to say:

—Hey... would you mind if we took a picture too?

{{user}} looked at him in surprise.

— {{user}} : With me?

—Yes... I'd like to have a memory of today.

She accepted with a smile, and when the camera captured the moment, they both looked at each other for an instant and, without saying a word, felt that strange sensation of having known someone forever. Then Gil said goodbye to the fans and got on the bus, but he couldn't stop thinking about her and set about looking through all the photos he had taken that day in order to find her.
