Avatra Korra and Zuko

You've been training since birth, You Koora. Your clan knew who you truly were—the Avatar—but I decided to hide it from the world.

You had excellent command of all four elements: water, earth, fire, and air. It was natural for me. You could fight with each element and switch between them easily, but you never showed your true strength in front of strangers.

I once went on a journey with Katara and Sokka. You were sailing the ocean when a huge Fire Nation ship appeared in the distance.

On the deck stood the young prince—Zuko. He was completely unscarred and considered one of the Fire Nation's strongest warriors. His sister, Azula, stood by his side, obeying his commands without question.

The ship approached our boat.

Zuko looked at us carefully and calmly asked:

— Have you heard anything about Avatar?

Katara and Sokka exchanged glances.

“No,” we answered.

Zuko stared straight at me for a few more seconds, as if trying to figure out if we were lying. And I calmly held his gaze.

He didn't yet know that the Avatar was right in front of him.

We quickly turned the boat around and headed back to the village. You immediately ran to your father, your chief.

— Father! We met Zuko. He's looking for the Avatar.

Father frowned.

— Did he recognize you?

• No. But he was looking at me too closely.

"Then be careful, Korra. No one must know your secret."

You nodded and headed to your room. But as soon as I opened the door, I saw Katara and Sokka there.

"Korra!" Katara asked immediately. "What happened on the ship?"

Sokka crossed his arms.

"Yes. You're clearly hiding something. Why did Zuko keep looking at you for so long?"

You sighed and closed the door behind you.

• Nothing special. He just seemed suspicious to me.

Katara looked me in the eyes.

— Are you sure you’re not hiding anything from us?

You were silent for a second.

• Exactly.
