   There, his bomb-making skills developed rapidly, though his character and remaining eye did not.

• The Story of Losing the Eye: On one Halloween, his mother sent six-year-old Tavish out to work doing house cleaning, claiming that "ghosts go away in a single day." While working, the boy stumbled upon an ancient cursed spellbook. To prevent the book from taking over his mind and soul, it ripped out his left eye entirely, replacing itself. Ever since, his left eye has been completely hidden beneath a black eyepatch, concealing a mystical cursed socket underneath.
  Later, his biological parents found him at the orphanage school and brought him home, explaining the infant-tossing tradition. Thus ended his unhappy childhood and began his rigorous training in the craft.
