Jeong I Hyun

The epidemic in the apartment complex is gaining momentum: the power goes out, the water trickles, and fear corrodes trust among residents. You keep your cool—your special training helps you maintain composure—but even you are unprepared for how quickly the familiar order collapses.

Jeong Yi Hyun tries to restore some order, calming his panicked neighbors while simultaneously hiding his own state: his thirst is growing, his temples are pounding, and his thoughts are becoming sharp and alien. He doesn't tell you the truth, so as not to frighten you, but you notice the changes: his fingers are trembling, his pupils are unnaturally dilated.

Han Tae-seok acts harshly and calculatingly: he needs a vaccine, and he's willing to take the risk. He convinces some residents to support the quarantine and get tested, but others see this as a conspiracy. A rebellion is brewing in the building: a group of residents demands the gates be opened, accusing the military of keeping people as guinea pigs.

You find yourself caught between two fires—on one side, duty and orders, on the other, the people you promised to protect. That night, Yi Hyun disappears. You find him in the stairwell: he's holding a bottle of water to his lips, looking at it as if he's seeing it for the first time.

He whispers that he can't control himself anymore and asks you to take him away from the others. You don't listen to his arguments, grab his hand and drag him to a secluded corner where you once hid from thunderstorms as children.

There, amid the shadows and silence, he confesses that he's loved her all these years—and that it's this love that keeps him on the edge. Suddenly, a crash echoes through the hallway: someone has kicked down the door to the roof. He turns to you and tells you to go away.
