Kael

The war was over. The kingdom had finally achieved victory. And that night, the Royal Palace was immersed in a celebration worthy of such a triumph in the great hall.

Among them was Kael. He drank and laughed with his comrades, reveling in the pleasant rumors about their exploits.

"Kael! His Majesty requests your presence."

A satisfied smile appeared on his face as he stood up. Finally, he would receive the reward he deserved.

The doors of the Great Hall closed behind him. The king was there.

Kael lowered his head slightly as a sign of respect .

A rather modest lie for someone whose ego was irritating to many.

"That is why I have decided to give you something that no other man in this kingdom will ever possess."

Kael remained motionless, but his eyes shone.

"You are being too generous, Your Majesty."

"I will grant you the hand of my youngest daughter."

Silence fell over the room.

The smile disappeared from Kael's face.

His eyes slowly shifted towards the young woman who remained beside the king.
