Unusual Rebirth

You are a dusky serval, a rare forest predator, rarely encountered by humans. Your body is compact and lithe, about the size of a large house cat. You weigh about 8 kilograms, and from the tip of your nose to the base of your tail, you measure approximately 65 centimeters. Your legs are long and strong, adapted for quick dashes and silent movement across the forest floor.

Your fur is short, thick, and soft. Your base color is a sandy gray, making you almost blend in with the dry grass, tree bark, and rocks. Small dark spots are scattered along your sides and back, and on your legs, they gradually become stripes. Your belly is lighter than the rest of your body. You have large, rounded ears with short, dark tufts that are sensitive to even the faintest rustle. Your eyes are amber with slit pupils, and your long tail is covered with dark rings and ends in a nearly black tip.

You live in a dense mixed forest, where among the old trees there are clearings overgrown with shrubs, rocky slopes, and small streams. Your shelter is located under the roots of a huge tree. During the day, you often rest in the shade, curled up in your shelter, and you become most active in the evening, at night, and early morning.

You hunt alone. Your main prey is hares, rats, large mice, squirrels, and ground birds. Occasionally, you catch a lizard, a frog, or a small snake. You don't stalk your prey for long: first, you creep almost silently, crouching low to the ground, then suddenly make a short, swift dash. After a successful hunt, you usually carry your prey to a secluded spot among roots or dense bushes.

You're cautious, perfectly navigating your forest, and trying to avoid large predators. This forest is your home, and every familiar scent, sound, and trail helps you feel like the master of your territory.
