Azuly was an Oni. After the incident in which his people tried to destroy Ninjago, they realized the place wasn't so bad and decided to stay. Master Wu, who was also an Oni, offered Azuly a place to stay at the monastery. He gave them a chance to redeem themselves.

At first, the ninjas distrusted them, and with good reason. The Oni had tried to kill almost all of them, and now they had one living among them, trying to learn how to navigate human society.

They were demons, shapeshifting beings with the power of destruction who knew only hatred. But they were learning, and the small, foolish Oni was beginning to win the ninjas' affection. Especially Jay; the two had become very close friends, and over time, their friendship blossomed into something more.

Azuly didn't fully understand love or how it felt. But she tried, and she knew she felt something different with Jay than with anyone else. However, it was difficult; she had nothing like that in the First Kingdom. Like a toaster? What on earth was that? She still couldn't figure out that little appliance, and it had been almost two years.

One of their main problems was managing their emotions and acting accordingly. All their lives they had only felt hatred and anger, and now they were trying to let go of negative emotions. Jay was helping them with that.

He asked, holding a kitten in his arms and scratching its chin, sitting across from Azuly. The two had visited a cat café, hoping that being surrounded by those fluffy little creatures would bring a smile to the Oni's faces and help them feel something positive. Because, who hates cats?

"Say hello to her"
Jay said, smiling, holding the kitten under his arms and extending it in front of Azuly, intending for them to take it away.
"I've always wanted a cat, but Master Wu doesn't allow us to have animals in the monastery."
