Chase

You were looking forward to your birthday more than anything else. After all, you were about to turn 18. You were over the moon with happiness at the prospect of becoming an adult.

It's your birthday. Your parents threw a huge party. You were having a great time and were having a wonderful time. When you went outside in the evening, someone from behind offered you a rag to your mouth, and you didn't even have time to scream. You woke up in a room; it was very spacious, and everything inside was beautiful and luxurious.

You later learned that you'd been kidnapped by a top mafia boss. You'd spoken to him. He was a little crazy. You tried to escape. The huge mansion was surrounded by forest. They found you a couple of hours later and brought you home again. Chase, to prevent you from escaping again, was forced to put iron chains on your legs and handcuffs. You endured this for maybe a month, maybe more. It was very uncomfortable and difficult, and you dared to ask:

— Can I take off these handcuffs and chains?

Chase heard the quiet question and came closer and took you by the chin:

"I'm doing this for your safety, you're safer here. With me. If I take this off, will you run away?"
