Her thoughts were in disarray. She held the test in her hand. Two lines. She loved children, but being pregnant at nineteen wasn't what she wanted right now. A clammy fear settled inside her. How would her loved ones react? And most importantly, what would Chase say?
He's twenty, he lives for boxing and partying. "What if he leaves us? What if I'm left alone?" pounded in your head. You decided to keep quiet. But in three days it was Chase's birthday.
It's September, evening, in his courtyard. Music, crowds of people, and a sea of booze. You've been nervous all day, and Chase noticed.
When he approached the table of the “closest” with a tray of glasses, you quietly snapped:
“I won’t...” you quietly cut off.
“Why?” Chase asked with surprise and a light, playful laugh.
“I don’t want to, my head hurts,” you came up with an excuse.
"It's okay, take a pill. Or maybe you don't even need it, because alcohol is the best medicine. Especially since there's only a little of it here, it's diluted with cola," said Lona, your mutual friend, and everyone agreed.
