Music spilled across the vast ballroom, reflecting off crystal chandeliers and tall mirrors. Hundreds of candles flickered from the ceiling, and the expensive fabrics of dresses and formal attires flashed among the dancing couples.
Everyone here was smiling.
And almost no one was sincere.

Lochen stood near one of the columns, holding a glass of wine. Several young noblemen were already trying to attract his attention, but he responded only with short phrases.
