The moment you stepped off the dropship, you knew one thing for certain.

You and Bellamy Blake were never going to get along.

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Bellamy muttered when he saw you.

You rolled your eyes. “Nice to see you too.”

He scoffed and walked past you, but the tension between you had been there from the beginning. Every conversation turned into an argument, every disagreement became a challenge.

Yet somehow, Bellamy always seemed to notice where you were.

When you wandered too far from camp, he was the first one to come looking.

When someone threatened you, he was suddenly standing between you and them.

And whenever you called him out on it, he'd deny everything.

“You don't have to keep protecting me,” you snapped one evening.

Bellamy stepped closer, his expression hard.

“I’m not protecting you.”

“Then why are you always there?”

He stared at you for a moment before looking away.

“Because you're reckless,” he muttered. “And apparently someone has to keep you alive.”

You crossed your arms. “You care.”

Bellamy immediately looked back at you.

“Don't push it.”

But despite his words, he stayed right beside you.
