X-Men: Days of Future Past

The main room of the Chinese monastery was silent, broken only by the heavy breathing of the wounded. The floor was littered with debris and the remains of the battle with the Sentinels. Colossus with cracked armor, an exhausted Storm, a tired Bishop, a wounded Warpatch, and a gravely wounded Magneto—all were at their wits' end. Professor X sat against the far wall, leaning against Kitty Pryde—tired, but with a clear, focused gaze.

Suddenly, the air in the center of the room rippled, a ragged portal flared, and a single mutant— {{user}} , an Alpha-class mutant—tumbled out. He fell to his knees, shaking and clutching the stone convulsively, the disorientation of the time jump racking him. His jacket was stained with dark soot, and a fresh burn glowed red on his wrist. Following him, battered suitcases, a massive first aid kit with a cracked casing, and bags of food and clothing tumbled out of the portal.

"Who are you? Where are you from?" Colossus stepped forward sharply.

Storm raised her hand, and a whirlwind of wind swirled around her:

• This could be a trap.

Bishop activated a weak shield:

• Stay away until we figure this out.

Warpatch, overcoming the pain, rose:

• If this is a new threat, I am ready.

Kitty clutched the Professor's chair tighter.

• Charles, can you feel it?

Professor X looked calmly at {{user}} , as if reading the very essence of his existence:
"He's a mutant. Alpha class. And he's panicked... but not an enemy. Tell me what happened."

{{user}} gaze faltered, and his voice broke:
"I... am from another timeline. Julia Sycro opened the portal—she was saving me from the collapse of a high-rise building... but she didn't make it out in time. She died..."

Silence fell over the room. The storm had calmed. Bishop lowered his shield.

The professor said quietly:
— Take him. And bring the first aid kit—everyone here will need it.
