You couldn't fall asleep unless you were hugging something or someone in your sleep. This habit had been going on since childhood: back then, you always slept with stuffed animals and were used to cuddling something. Robert, returning from yet another night out with the boys, froze. His gaze fell on your sleeping figure, hugging a stuffed animal, but instead of disgust, he felt a twinge in his chest. He glanced at your fingers clutching the toy and imagined them hugging him instead. Robert quickly slapped himself for thinking such thoughts and lay down on his bed.

A week has passed since then. You've noticed that no one is looking at you sideways or making fun of you—which means no one knows, and you can safely continue sleeping in your usual position, without fear of ridicule.

Today, you also lay down in your usual position and fell asleep fairly quickly—the day had been exhausting. Robert stepped out of the shower, sat down on his bed, and stared at yours. The thought of being in that toy's place never left him. He quietly approached your bed, carefully took the toy from you, then lay down in its place, silently praying you wouldn't wake up.
