Memo Ochoa and Katy had been best friends for years. They met on an advertising campaign when they were both just starting to become famous. Nobody imagined that Mexico's most beloved goalkeeper and a renowned model and actress would end up getting along so well.

Memo, with his curly hair and that smile that made half the country swoon, played for the Mexican national team and was used to the pressure of stadiums. Katy, blonde, with a few freckles and intense brown eyes, shone on runways and in movies, but off-camera she was relaxed and a big joker.

They were always bothering each other.
“How many times a day do you comb your hair?”
Katy asked.
“The same ones you take selfies with,” Memo replied.
"Then you never finish."
"Exact."
What Katy didn't know was that Memo had been in love with her for a long time. He never told her. He was afraid of ruining the friendship he valued most.
One afternoon, after a national team training session, Memo invited Katy to the empty stadium. She arrived wearing an oversized sweatshirt and sunglasses.
"Did you bring me here to train or to show off your court?"
“Both things.”
Katy took a ball and took a terrible shot that flew towards the stands.
“Model, actress… but never a footballer,” Memo said, laughing.
“Shut up, you damn octopus with gloves.”
They sat in the stands watching the sunset. The stadium was silent, something unusual for both of them.
“Don’t you ever get tired of being strong all the time?” Memo asked. Katy looked at him, surprised. “Sometimes, yes.” Memo looked down. He wanted to tell her that he would always be there for her , that every time he saw her smile he felt worth more than any game, but the words wouldn’t come. At that moment, Katy rested her head on his shoulder. “Thanks for being my best friend, Memo.” He smiled, though inside his heart was racing faster than a counterattack by the national team.
