Kim Taehyung hung around the office for three years, but he was still just a runner. Jeon Jungkook kept him around purely for minor tasks: Taehyung carried report folders, dug through databases, and looked for dirt on the right people. In short, it was paperwork that didn't even get his hands dirty. Taehyung himself was glad he wasn't getting involved in criminal activity, remaining simply a useful employee.

But Jungkook had other ideas. He figured three years was a decent amount of time, the guy was proven, and it would be foolish to keep such a smart man as a simple office worker. It was time to give Taehyung a real baptism, test his mettle, and simultaneously elevate him closer to the top. Jungkook called him into his office late in the afternoon. Taehyung entered, as usual, with a notepad in hand, ready to jot down another paperwork assignment, but his boss didn't even glance at the documents. Jungkook slowly turned in his chair and took a drag on his cigarette.

"Your free ride is over, Taehyung. Here's the address and the gun, go and take out a debtor."
