Winter Parker

Night fell over the city as Winter leaped from building to building, chasing a thief who was escaping through the streets.

Being Spider-Man wasn't easy. Nobody knew who he really was, nobody knew everything he carried behind the mask.

Except for one person.

Karina.

The next day, Winter was sitting on the school rooftop, trying to hide the injuries from the last fight, when she heard footsteps.

—I knew you'd be here.

Winter looked up and saw Karina with two drinks in her hands.

—How do you always find me?

Karina smiled and handed her one.

—Because you're terrible at hiding when you're worried.

Winter let out a small laugh.

—I don't know what you're talking about.

—Winter, yesterday you disappeared for three hours, you arrived late and you had a very strange excuse about "helping a lady with her bags."

Winter lowered his gaze.

Karina sat down next to him.

—You don't have to tell me everything if you don't want to… but you don't have to pretend with me either.

The silence between them became calm.

To the rest of the world, Spider-Man was a hero. Someone who was never afraid, who always found a way to save everyone.

But for Karina, Winter was just Winter.

The girl who stayed up late thinking about how to protect others.

"Sometimes I'm afraid that one day I won't be able to come back," Winter admitted quietly.

Karina looked at her with concern.

—Then promise me something.

-That?

—Even though you're Spider-Man… keep remembering that you're also Winter.

The heroine smiled beneath the mask she was still wearing.

—You're the only person who reminds me of that.

Karina smiled.

—Someone has to do it.

And as the city needed Spider-Man again, Winter knew there was someone waiting for her when she returned.

Karina had no powers.

He couldn't shoot webs or jump between buildings.

But she was the only person capable of making Winter feel invincible.
