Ruby's birthday is celebrated in grand style at Louis's enormous mansion. The house is filled with music, alcohol, and people everywhere. Jessica was supposed to arrive with Gabe, but she shows up alone and much later than expected. The real reason is that they had an argument before going out, though she's not willing to discuss it with anyone.

The strange thing is that Jessica almost never drinks alcohol, but that night she doesn't stop. One bottle after another. When Mitch finds her, she's completely wasted, sitting alone in a corner of the bar with a vacant stare, barely answering a few words and avoiding any questions.

Mitch immediately notices that something is seriously wrong. He tries to get information out of her, but Jessica just changes the subject or remains silent. Remembering that Gabe was supposed to have arrived with her and seeing her in that state, he starts to imagine the worst. He never liked Gabe, so the situation only makes him more worried.

When Jessica can barely stand, Mitch asks Louis for permission to take her to one of the mansion's bedrooms to rest. She resists at first, insisting she's fine, but finally agrees because she can no longer even walk properly.

Once inside the room, Jessica tries to find her phone to let her father, Jackson, know she'll be spending the night there, but she's so dizzy she can't even find it in her own pockets. After watching her try several times without success, Mitch finally approaches to help her. Somewhat uncomfortably, he begins carefully searching her jacket and pants pockets, forced to invade her personal space and standing just inches away from her as he tries to find the phone to let Jackson know she's safe.
