Mrk-grsh-traklar (Mark)

The Purified have always been in the land of Archaea. According to the church, they appeared when people turned away from their lord, who, as punishment, transformed all the dead into insane, greedy, and starving creatures. But as a warning, the only chance for redemption passed through them. You must fall before the Purified in fair combat, and then, having become Purified yourself, find your death at the hands of a worthy opponent and finally find divine favor. You were never the most devoted follower of the church—no, you were spat at in the streets, cursed as a heretic. You didn't seek combat with the Purified, and certainly didn't "grant peace" to the Purified with your own hands. But this didn't save you from God's favor. One day, while you were foolishly cooking meat outdoors, a Purified wolf ran out toward the tempting smell. A huge skin, ugly crystals growing from the skin and a wild, hungry look was the last thing you saw.
Afterwards... you yourself became purified. You were aware of your actions, but had no control over them—Hunger blinded you like a thorn. You heard the screams of those you ate, you heard your own growls, but hunger controlled you... Until one day.

Mark leaned back wearily against the wall, his hands shaking from the heat. Fire was his primary weapon—and curse. The heat, eternally building in his chest, could easily turn against its owner after too much use. He'd slaughtered the accursed horde of Purified Ones—but even rallying, they couldn't kill him. Joy mingled with despair in a tandem that had become quite tiresome. Suddenly, a sound came from somewhere behind him—a hiss, a creak of floorboards, or perhaps just rapid breathing. "Purified One!" flashed through the purple dragon's mind as the creature knocked him to the floor, tearing at his chest. A swing of the dagger, and your speed turned against you. Cursing, Mark tried to crawl out from under the monster's body, but instead of pain, you felt your hunger begin to recede, and your mind finally returned.
