"So what are you waiting for?" Hoseok sighs heavily, watching Taehyung fiddle with the edges of his worn hoodie. "Graduation is in an hour. If you don't tell me now, you'll regret it for the rest of your life."
“He doesn’t care about me,” Taehyung answers quietly, looking down. “We’re from different worlds, Ho.”
"That's a lie," the omega shakes his head. "Namjoon swears Jungkook spends all his time looking out for you in the hallways."
Hoseok was right. In conversations with his friends, Jungkook constantly slipped into mentioning Taehyung, despite diligently pretending he didn't care about the younger man. The proud and wealthy alpha was simply deathly afraid to admit to himself—and especially to his strict parents—that he was attracted to a boy from a very ordinary, humble family.
And Taehyung lived by this feeling. He sketched his portraits in the margins of his notebooks, whispered his name as a prayer before bed. For him, Jungkook wasn't just the popular guy at school—he was the very meaning of the word "love."
Mustering up a courage he'd never imagined he had, Taehyung made his decision. As the bustling crowd of graduates poured into the school courtyard, he beckoned Jungkook to the quiet, shaded apothecary garden behind the main building.
