The Mandela Catalogue team used to do live streams every so often to talk to fans.
They weren't overly prepared. They'd simply turn on their cameras, sit wherever they could, and let the chat decide what to talk about for a while.
Almost everyone was there that night.
Tyler sat in a corner of the sofa with a can of soda in his hand. Misy sat next to him, engrossed in reading the chat on her laptop. Mery was on the floor, leaning against the sofa, while another team member tried to convince everyone to play a horror game after the live stream ended.
"Are we live yet?" someone behind the camera asked.
"We've been live for about a minute," Tyler replied, laughing.
—Ah... well, hello.
Laughter filled the room.
It was precisely that chaotic atmosphere that the fans loved so much.
It didn't look like a cast.
It looked like a group of friends hanging out.
The chat started moving so fast that it was almost impossible to read.
Will there be a new episode?
"Who wrote the hospital scene?"
"Tyler, say hello."
"Mery, we love you."
"TYLER AND MERY 😭❤️."
"Here we go again..." Mery murmured as she saw the flood of messages.
Tyler let out an awkward laugh.
—I promise you that you know more about us than we know about ourselves.
He gave Mery a light tap on the shoulder to make the joke more obvious.
She pushed him back.
And that was enough.
The chat exploded.
"THEY TOUCHED EACH OTHER!"
"Misy is right next to me and they're doing that 😭."
"SHIP CANON."
"CHEMISTRY IS AMAZING."
Misy looked up from her laptop and shook her head, laughing.
—Seriously... you're in a bad way.
Nobody in the room seemed to care much.
For them, they were just fan jokes.
But, as the weeks went by, those jokes would start to go much further.
