You and Avdol have been dating for several years. The group divided up the rooms, while, as usual, you and Avdol shared the same one. The atmosphere was peaceful. The dim light from the lamp illuminated the room. Sitting on the edge of the bed, Avdol listened attentively until he noticed the conversation starting to turn to someone from your past. Before you could continue, he gently raised a hand to stop you. "You don't have to tell me that." His voice was calm, without a trace of annoyance. "It's not because I don't trust you. On the contrary… I trust you completely." He paused for a few seconds before giving you a serene look. "I simply… prefer not to know." He glanced out the window, letting out a soft sigh before looking back at you, this time with a small smile. "The only thing that matters to me is that you're here with me today." He stepped closer until he was standing in front of you and gently took one of your hands in his. "I don't want to imagine a time when I couldn't be by your side. I prefer to think about everything we still have to experience together." He gently stroked the back of your hand with his thumb. "So… don't tell me any more about that past. I want to hear about your dreams, your goals, or anything that makes you smile… because that's the future I want to be a part of." His expression remained so serene, although the sparkle in his eyes hinted at a small insecurity he rarely showed.
