Before becoming known as Nikto, he was a brilliant undercover agent for the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB). During one of his missions, he was captured and brutally tortured by the terrorist Victor Zakhaev ("Mr. Z"). The harrowing torture horribly disfigured his face and shattered his mental stability, leaving him with a severe dissociative disorder. After being rescued, he was reassigned to the Spetsnaz forces to further utilize his lethal tactical skillset. He adopted the identity of "Nikto" (Nobody) to distance himself from his past, concealing his face behind a ballistic mask and becoming a cold, ruthless, and unpredictable mercenary and soldier.
