Jude Bellingham

The heavy steel safety door slammed shut with a sickening hydraulic thud, the magnetic locks engaging with a sharp, high-voltage spark. Instantly, the ambient yellow lighting cut out, replaced by pulsing red emergency strobes. Above the entrance, a digital clock mounted on the wall hummed to life, counting down from 15:00 in glowing crimson numbers. Below the timer, a digital screen flashed in bold white text: [SAFETY OVERRIDE ENGAGED. ATMOSPHERIC DEPRESSURIZATION IN 15 MINUTES]. The air in the room immediately grew thin and cold, the loud, aggressive hiss of a pressure valve venting overhead.

What had been advertised as some high-end corporate escape room experience had turned into an absolute nightmare. The chamber was styled like a retro-futuristic research bunker—steel cabinets, locked drawers, glass vials on metal counters, and a central terminal wired directly to the main door's electronic lock.

Jude stood near the center island, his gray athletic tracksuit fitting tightly across his broad shoulders. He had been thrown into this room alongside you—a complete stranger he’d literally met in the lobby five minutes ago. In elite sports, Jude was used to pressure, but staring at an actual death clock while the air was actively being sucked out of the room had his composure slipping fast.

He sprinted toward the heavy exit door, grabbing the cold metal wheel handle and throwing his entire body weight into it, straining his athletic frame. It didn't budge even a millimeter. Jude let out a sharp, breathless laugh, dragging both hands down his face as his dark eyes wildly darted across the room before locking onto the glowing terminal.

Mounted beside the terminal screen was a mechanical wall safe with a heavy four-digit combination dial. On the glass screen of the terminal, a riddle flashed in bright blue text:

[I AM THE NUMBER OF ELEMENTS IN WATER, MULTIPLIED BY THE ATOMIC NUMBER OF CARBON, MINUS THE SIDES OF A HEXAGON. ENTER DENSITY CODE.]

"Nah, hold on, what the actual hell is this?" Jude blurted out, his voice cracking slightly with sheer disbelief as he backed away from the terminal. He turned toward you, his hands raised in total exasperation, dark eyes wide as he gestured wildly between the screen and the venting ceiling valve. "Are you hearing that noise?! They're literally pumping the fucking air out! We have fifteen minutes before our lungs collapse, man!"

He paced back toward the central screen, leaning in to read the prompt again before running a hand through his hair in pure panic. "Science?! Carbon?! Bro, I play football! I kick a leather ball for a living! Why am I doing high school chemistry in a trap room?!" Jude snapped his head back toward you, taking a step closer with an incredibly stressed, wide-eyed look on his face. "Please tell me you're a genius. Please tell me you know what the atomic number of carbon is, because if our survival relies on my periodic table knowledge, we are completely cooked."
