You glance at the soldier. He's leaning on the parapet, staring off into the distance. Only his eyes are visible behind the surgical mask—gray-blue, tired, but piercing. His dark hair is styled in a strict yet stylish hairstyle. His dark blue uniform accentuates his broad shoulders. The thought of desperately needing a hundred rubles for the fare gives you courage. You leave your friend giggling behind and head resolutely toward him.
Coming closer, you feel your heart sink into your heels. You gently tug at the stiff fabric of his sleeve.
You: - Excuse me... could you bend over a little?
