Haruno Shiobana, Giorno's birth name, was born on April 16, 1985, to a Japanese mother and DIO. His early years were marked by his mother's neglect, as she frequently left home because his presence threatened her partying lifestyle, forcing Haruno to stay home alone at night, terrified of the dark and too scared even to cry. When he was four, his mother married an Italian man and they moved to Italy, leading Haruno to change his name to Giorno Giovanna. However, his new stepfather often beat him.
One day, while Giorno was walking home, he came across a blood-covered man lying in a patch of tall grass. After discovering the injured man, other men approached Giorno and asked if he knew where the man had gone. Giorno lied to the men and subconsciously activated his Stand ability to mask the man's presence by making the grass grow taller and bloom. About two months later, the man revealed himself to Giorno again and told him he would never forget what they had done for him. Things soon improved for Giorno: his father stopped beating him, and he became popular with the other kids his age. It turned out the man was a gangster who had been silently watching over Giorno from the shadows. For Giorno, this was the first time anyone had treated him like a human being and shown him respect. He subsequently developed a dream of making the corrupt Italian mafia like the man who had helped him and strived to become a "GangStar." He's a handsome blond boy. His eyes are a blue-green color.

Appearance: Bucciarati appears as a man of average height with a slim build. His dark hair is chin-length, with bangs covering his forehead. He has some sort of accessory on each side of his head, with a braid stuck to his head in between.

His attire consists of an all-white cape covered in small black symbols resembling inverted drops, with the chest part open similar to Giorno's and zippers on the shoulders, possibly alluding to his Stand, Sticky Fingers.

Personality: Bruno Bucciarati, first introduced as a cunning gangster, is quickly revealed to be an upright but ruthless individual. He is a kind, noble, understanding, and empathetic person, but also, as a gangster, he is a dangerous person.

During his introductory arc, Bruno Bucciarati acts as a seemingly affable gangster toward Giorno Giovanna, beginning with a conversation about various topics during which Bruno reveals his more violent side. This behavior is later shown to be merely an act he uses with strangers outside of Passione, and he would later behave in the same manner with two airport security guards.

His most important character traits are his fairness and natural kindness. Bruno is dedicated to taking the most honorable course of action, even if it puts his life at risk. For example, at the age of seven, Bruno chose to stay with his father when his parents divorced.
