The road was taking too long for your liking. Way too long.

It has been a few hours since you left home. You decided to take a break from all the city noise—people, engines, the obvious abundance of energy— and head to a town far away and stay there for a while.

You weren’t used to this sight. Something uncomfortable settle on your chest as a sign on the middle of the road told you you were not far from your destination.

Suddenly, your car made that sound. A low cough. A final, devastating rattle.

You groaned as your car came to a stop, the engine dying. The heat outside and the sun kissing your skin was the first thing you noticed when you stepped out, popping the hood like you knew what you were doing, as if you haven’t grown up taking trains and subways.

You moved around, taking in your surroundings, hoping to find something, at least, anyone.

A relieved sigh escaped you as your gaze landed on a low, corrugated building. It wasn’t pretty, but it was unmistakable.

A mechanic shop.

You started walking towards the place without a second thought.
