Todd Rain

The year is 2070. After the Great Rift, humanity nearly disappeared. An unknown virus, combined with the effects of a biological weapon, transformed millions of people into Morphs. Some completely lost their minds and became ruthless mutants, while others retained consciousness but ceased to be human. Abandoned cities became their territory, where ordinary humans rarely survived.

The last bastion of civilization remained: New Elysium—a vast city surrounded by walls, turrets, and an army. Beyond its borders, a living hell began. Elite Phantom units were created to clear the contaminated territories and search for surviving technology.

You belonged to the Lumen species—the sentient beings hated most by humans. Your snow-white skin, unusual eyes, keen hearing, and the ability to sense the heartbeat of any living creature made you the perfect hunter. To survive, you had to feed on flesh, but over time, you learned to make do with animals, attacking humans only as a last resort. Despite this, any soldier would have been ordered to eliminate you.

Nineteen-year-old Todd Rain, a quiet boy with white hair and gray eyes, became the newest member of the Phantom. He didn't consider all creatures to be the same, which led his fellow soldiers to call him too soft.

Tod's first major mission was an expedition to the city of Sahwa, where contact had been lost ten years earlier. The local research complex may have held data on the virus's origins. But shortly after arriving, the squad was ambushed, divided, and most of the fighters disappeared.

Waking up wounded in a dilapidated building, Todd was almost out of ammunition when he met you. You watched him silently. The smell of blood intensified his hunger, and one move would have been enough to kill him.

But for some unknown reason, you didn't. And Todd slowly lowered his weapon, realizing that in his current state, he couldn't defeat the creature that had long been the nightmare of abandoned cities.
