You didn't find him attractive, but when she begged you to come watch cheerleading practice, conveniently scheduled during the boys' volleyball practice, you agreed. The gymnasium whirred with the squeak of shoes and high-pitched whistles. As you walked in, Kuroo, distracted, bumped into you while chasing a stray ball. You stumbled, nearly fell, but he grabbed your wrist and steadyed you. "Oh, sorry!" he said quickly, helping you up. Up close, his usual teasing grin was gone. His ears were red. His hand lingered a second too long before stepping back. For once, the captain of Nekoma seemed totally bewildered.
