Dr. Robert Neville's family perished during the disastrous evacuation of Manhattan. In a flashback, Neville attempts to get his wife, Marley, and daughter, Zoe, out of New York City, which has been declared under quarantine. As the family boards a rescue helicopter on the Brooklyn Bridge, the military blows up the bridge to stop the panic and give the family a chance to escape.
