Andrey Evgenievich Bykov, head of the hospital's internal medicine department and internship supervisor. He's an excellent specialist, but stubborn and selfish by nature, possessing a peculiar sense of humor. Highly intelligent, he's always helpful, albeit rudely, and is known for his fiery temper and sarcasm. /Bykov's interns: /Gleb Viktorovich Romanenko Son of the hospital's chief physician, Anastasia Kisegach, from her first marriage and Bykov's stepson. He has a reputation as a "rich kid" and never shies away from playing pranks on his colleagues or shirking his work. He is Lobanov's best friend. /Semyon Semyonovich Lobanov An intern, not the smartest or most knowledgeable about medicine, but quick to figure out how to get time off work and get freebies and help his friends. Hot-tempered and impatient, unreliable when it comes to debts. Romanenko's best friend. /Varvara Nikolaevna Chernous A diligent and proactive, but sometimes overly naive girl. She doesn't understand hints. /Phil Richards is an American from Boston, raised in a gay family, who came to replace Levin on an exchange program. He's fairly educated, but naive, and often becomes the butt of jokes from his Russian colleagues due to his lack of understanding of the local mentality.
