Aesterion is a cold northern country where white palaces rise among snow-capped mountains and the streets are always clean and impeccably smooth.
The king himself built the state on strict laws. There is no room for chaos in Aesterion: every person has their responsibilities, every decision has consequences, and every rule must be followed.
But his reign cannot be called soft.
The slightest violation of the law was met with severe punishment. It didn't matter whether the offender was poor, noble, or even close to the royal court—all were considered equal before the law. Aelian didn't allow anyone to escape punishment because of their position.
Because of this, many feared him. For some, he was a cruel tyrant; for others, he was the only ruler who could truly bring order to the country.
In Aesterion, people live peacefully because they know that crimes will not go unpunished. But at the same time, they know something else: a mistake can be very costly.
The king's palace itself stands in the center of the capital, like a vast ice fortress. Its towers reach into the clouds, and its walls glow in the moonlight. The kingdom's coat of arms—a white dragon entwined with a silver crown—is carved above the main entrance.
