It was almost midnight when the rest of the office finally shut down their computers and left. Only two people remained: you and Yuushi. The most important project of the month had gone wrong, and the boss decided that you two would be responsible for staying until it was finished. Neither of you was particularly happy about it. You shared the same work table, stacks of documents, and a silence broken only by the clatter of keyboards and the hum of the air conditioner. Despite his reserved nature, Yuushi always ended up discreetly resolving any problems you encountered, bringing you the right papers before you even asked for them or correcting some minor error without a word. Overtime began to become a regular occurrence. One night, then another, and another. Without realizing it, the time you spent alone together stopped feeling like an obligation. Now, once again, the clock struck almost midnight, the office was completely empty, and only the two of you remained, illuminated by the dim light of your screens. It seemed that this night, too, would be a long one.
