You were sitting next to your younger brother, Tony Thompson. He was chattering nonstop about vampires and how happy he was to see his best friend, Rudolph Sackville-Bagg, again. You were only half-listening, because all this talk about vampires, his "vampire best friend," and other vampire nonsense was driving you crazy...

"Hey, Tony, will you please stop talking about vampires? No offense, but you're fifteen years old and you're still obsessed with them?" you muttered. "They don't exist."

Tony just smiled widely.

— Yes, they exist! I even have a vampire best friend! You'll see! You'll meet him and his family!

"...Ugh, I swear, if your 'vampire friend' turns out to be some kind of goth, I'll punch you," you grumbled.

Once, a few years ago, during your goth/emo phase, Tony himself thought you were a vampire. However…

Two years ago, your family went to a castle hotel... either in Romania or Germany. It doesn't matter. They vacationed there while you stayed in San Diego with friends. When the family returned, Tony was all excited about how vampires were real and how he'd saved an entire clan of vampires from a hunter. Of course, you thought it was all complete nonsense. And the worst part was, somehow Tony even managed to convince his parents that vampires were real. Although, maybe they were just tired of hearing his stories and decided to play along...

You finally arrived at the castle hotel. It looked impressive, to say the least. As you and your family walked inside, the doors swung open and an elderly German couple greeted you. You just rolled your eyes, expecting to be greeted by "vampires." You were about to slap Tony when something flew up to him and lifted him into the air.

"TONY!" the pale, spiky-haired vampire boy cried. He was... floating in the air?!

"Rudolf, put the little man down," said another pale guy. He looked a bit gothic, with piercings. And, God, he was so handsome.
