Child (real name Tartaglia) is the eleventh of the Fatui Harbingers.

Tartaglia has short, wavy red hair and blue eyes. He wears a red Fatui mask, tilted to the left side of his head.

His casual attire is a simple gray suit consisting of trousers and a jacket with an asymmetrical closure. The jacket is only half-buttoned, revealing the Eye of God attached to his waist belt. Black boots and gloves complete the look, along with an aiguillette with a red stone on his right shoulder and a scarlet scarf draped over his back.

Tartaglia's personality is built on contrasts. At first glance, he appears good-natured, cheerful, and even playful. He enjoys socializing, treats the Traveler as a friend, and is genuinely attached to his family. However, behind this casual facade lies a deadly warrior who lives for battle.

Some character traits:
Unpredictability. His sudden changes in mood and behavior make him difficult to understand.

Confidence and giving. He openly admits to using a bow because it's a weapon he's weak in, and defeating such an opponent seems especially exciting to him.

Aversion to intrigue. Unlike many other Harbingers, Tartaglia disapproves of the Fatui's deceitful and treacherous methods.

Devotion to the cause. He is sincerely devoted to the Queen and is willing to put personal feelings aside to fulfill her will.

Impulsiveness. He often acts on emotions and instincts rather than cold calculation.

Dualism in his relationship with the Traveler. He can act as both an ally and an antagonist, using the player for his own ends.

Childe (Tartaglia) is one of the eleven Harbingers, the ruling elite of Fatui, despite his youthful appearance. He's a wolf in sheep's clothing. Behind his and relaxed friendly exterior lies a deadly swordsman. He is simultaneously the youngest and most dangerous of the Fatui Harbingers. However, Childe is at odds with the rest of the organization. An unrivaled warrior, he disagrees with their deceptive and treacherous methods.

Tartaglia describes himself as a "bad guy," but not one to cause the Traveler any trouble. He appears good-natured and cheerful, and is somewhat distressed by Fatui's bad reputation. He tells the Traveler that he dislikes Signora's methods and appears thoughtful when the Traveler mentions the incident in Mondstadt as a reason to distrust him.

While Tartaglia appears to be helping the Traveler, he also uses him for his own ends – he forces Catherine to eavesdrop on his conversations to learn about the Qixing Group's goals.

Tartaglia is quite confident and a bit cocky; he says he uses bows because it's a weapon he's very weak with, making defeating an opponent with them all the more exciting. He doesn't think much of throwing money around, even jokingly offering to let the Traveler rob the Bank of the Northern Kingdom if it would help them.

As the youngest member of the Harbingers in Fatui history, Tartaglia has every right to do as he pleases. Although this lone wolf has rather strained relationships with his fellow members, he is still considered responsible and trustworthy, despite his brusque manner. Tartaglia always fulfills his promises, no matter how absurd they may be. Whether it's exterminating dragons in their lair or seizing enemy territory single-handedly, he will do everything gracefully. Childe is the vanguard of the Fatui Harbingers. He appears in the territory of Snow's enemies and strikes a decisive blow before conflict begins.

The people of Snow say that Tartaglia has been fighting on the battlefield since he was 14 years old. Remarkably, he has mastered all forms of weaponry and martial arts since a young age. Only his love of battle is greater than his skills. Childe enjoys risky tactics and craves the prospect of facing strong opponents. His arrogance is bolstered by his extensive combat experience and accomplished skills. However, the other Harbingers worry that Childe's belligerent nature could cause them unnecessary trouble, so they always try to choose a location as far away from Snezhnaya as possible for his next mission. Interestingly, Tartaglia always finds himself at the center of chaos and conflict. His extensive experience and vanity have made him a real braggart. Unlike his more modest colleagues, Tartaglia often openly attends public appearances, and not always as an audience member.

Ever since childhood, one of Tartaglia's favorite pastimes has been ice fishing. Back then, no one called him Tartaglia or, as the Fatui call him, "Child." His father named him Ajax after a character in a certain adventure novel. Ajax loved to sit with his father, fishing rod in hand, near a hole in the ice. Ice fishing was no easy task. Sometimes it would take up an entire morning. However, drilling the ice and waiting for a bite was always accompanied by interesting stories from his

Ajax saw himself and his future in these stories, so he always listened attentively, not missing the slightest detail and imagining himself in the protagonist's shoes. Even after leaving home, his favorite pastime remained ice fishing. Whether he was called Ajax or Child Tartaglia, the long wait with a fishing rod in hand was no longer accompanied by his father's stories. Training his endurance and reflecting on past battles became his companions. Now Tartaglia didn't care whether he caught a fish or not.

Contrary to popular belief, Tartaglia wasn't born with a sword in his hand. He acquired all his skills during a fateful encounter, which he would never tell anyone about. At the age of 14, Ajax ran away from home, taking only a short blade and a piece of bread. He was tired of the monotony of family life. Lost in a snowy forest, fleeing bears and wolves, Ajax fell into a bottomless fissure in the earth. There, he discovered an ancient, boundless world and encountered a mysterious swordmaster—or rather, a swordmaster from the Realm of Darkness noticed this ambitious boy... The future Harbinger Child would never explore this darkness. After spending three months there, Ajax learned from his master how to move freely through the Abyss. The swordmaster taught Ajax how to incite conflict using his predisposition to chaos. No one knows what happened to the boy in the Abyss; his lips are forever sealed. When his worried mother and sister finally found him, only three days had passed in their world. Standing in the forest, a rusty blade in hand, Ajax returned from his first adventure, which marked the end of his youth and the beginning of his warriorhood.

When the boy returned home, he was no longer the same. From a cowardly and indecisive boy, he transformed into a frivolous and self-assured youth. He acted as if the world revolved around him, and all the battles were just waiting for him to appear on the battlefield.

Wars bring change, and the unpredictability of these changes, like the colorful swirl of a kaleidoscope, captivated and drew Ajax. Before his father's eyes, Ajax, the third son whose fate he worried about, transformed into an unusually stubborn man, bringing nothing but discord into the peaceful life of the village of Moresand. Or, better said, he became the heart of discord—no matter where he went or what he did, fights and arguments followed him everywhere... And he found joy in it. Finally, after one serious brawl that nearly resulted in murder, his father was forced to surrender his beloved son to the Fatui organization. He hoped that the strict military discipline inherent in the Fatui would forge his son's character, but instead he was forced to watch as the boy easily dispatched a squad of well-armed warriors. His father was disappointed, but the incident caught the attention of Pulcinella, number five of the Harbingers. He was amazed by Ajax's fighting prowess and deeply intrigued by his nature, which attracted trouble and delighted in it. Pulcinella accepted Ajax into Fatui and, under the guise of punishment, forced him to start from the very bottom and dedicate himself to serving the Queen. Ajax's insatiable thirst for battle was fully satisfied by his service in Fatui, and his burgeoning ego was sated by victories over powerful opponents. Ajax was chosen as one of the Harbingers and given the title of "Child" of Tartaglia. Thus, he became one of the most powerful men in Snezhnaya. But becoming Tartaglia was not his ultimate goal. For one who yearned to challenge the world, it was only the first step on a lifelong journey.

Tartaglia's Eye of Corruption is a medal for his past glory and proof of his strength. He still clearly remembers the day he received his Eye of Corruption and became one of the Harbingers of Fatui. He stood before the cold and majestic Queen, and Piero, the number one Harbinger, personally pinned this insignia to his belt. It was his reward for defeating terrible monsters and a memento of countless battles. But this was not what Tartaglia rejoiced over, for to him the Eye of Corruption was merely a badge of honor a soldier should receive. He ignored the meaningful glances of his new "colleagues"—their reproaches and discontent did not affect Tartaglia. The soul of the newly minted Child was filled with respect only for the Queen, seated on her high, luxurious throne. He respected her not only because she opened the way to even greater battles and gave him even more reasons to fight, but also for the way she looked at him. Her gaze was cold and pure, haughty and sharp. She was not only a towering Cryo Archon, but also a true warrior. Thus, Childe, having just received the Eye of Corruption, swore to serve the one and only Snow Queen faithfully and truly.
