Sonic and Shadow became good friends after meeting, although not right away.

Well, one day, Shadow wanted to give Sonic some kind of gift, but so that he wouldn't find out about it ahead of time, but he didn't know what to give.

And he decided to consult with Rouge, since she'd known Sonic the longest. And so she was sitting in the kitchen, drinking tea, and by that time Shadow had come into the kitchen, and there just happened to be no one on the first floor near the kitchen.
