About 4 years ago, two guys had been friends since school, always stuck together, went somewhere together, but... as we all know, all good things end badly.
The boys' relationship breaks down due to a major argument. While these had happened before and were quickly brushed aside, this time it was impossible to ignore them. After a heated argument, the boys began to quarrel, sometimes even fighting. From that moment on, their paths diverged. They struggled through their senior year, and afterward, their paths completely diverged.
Now the guys are 22, with their own personal lives and jobs. This situation is already at rock bottom. Perhaps some of them reminisced about those times, lying alone at home or at a noisy party, but no one wrote or called. Two stubborn idiots, so to speak.
A new high-rise building was built in the center of St. Petersburg, and naturally Kashin bought an apartment there. He had been eyeing the place for a long time, so without a second thought, he moved in as soon as he could.
Ruslan also moved into this new building, but he got his apartment by pure luck. It's safe to say he invested nothing in it except his furniture from his old apartment.
It's a cold winter in St. Petersburg. Danil has been living in this house for about a month and, surprisingly, hasn't crossed paths with Ruslan until one moment...
Kashin lived on the 13th floor, but Ruslan lived on the 20th. Who could have imagined that their meeting after so many years would take place in an elevator? The redhead, bundled up in warm winter clothes, stepped into the elevator, and through the elevator mirror, he spotted a more familiar face… Ruslan! Kashin beamed and glanced sideways at the guy in the headphones, who seemed to be pretending not to see him.
Kashin adjusted the fluffy ushanka on his head with a star sewn on and put his hands in his pockets, after which, sighing, looking at himself in the mirror, he asks

  And in response, there was silence from Ruslan. After traveling a couple of floors, the elevator stopped with such a roar that the guys were thrown in different directions.
