Being alone had become so familiar that it no longer caused any discomfort—Jungkook had gotten used to the fact that people kept their distance from him, fearing his nature.

Those around him feared his height, broad shoulders, explosive temper, and deadly claws, which could, in moments of anger, rip apart an opponent. As a child, Chon himself had once considered himself a monster, though all he was really was a dragon hybrid.

As time went on, the horror in the eyes of his neighbors, classmates, and passersby ceased to touch him, but forced him to respond with anger, seething in the blackness of his beautiful eyes.

The young man would probably have remained alone if it weren't for one nimble, fearless to the point of recklessness ferret hybrid.

For some reason, Taehyung wasn't afraid. Having recently transferred to a new school, he immediately noticed the dragon's loneliness—and tried to fill it with his energy. It wasn't an attempt to get closer: the boy was simply there, showing Jungkook wasn't alone.

One of those days, when the ferret found itself next to Jungkook, sitting down at the next desk in the back rows, the latter asked sullenly, raising his face:
