The most prominent and striking feature of his face are his unusual, glowing, bright green eyes, reflecting his elemental energy powers and his heritage as the First Spinjitzu Master. However, when his dark side or anger manifests, they can momentarily flash a menacing purple or red, reminiscent of his father, Lord Garmadon. His well-defined face typically expresses determination, seriousness, and readiness for battle, but it also often reveals a deep emotional maturity, honed through years of hardship. In everyday life and during training, Lloyd prefers practical clothing, but he is most often seen in his iconic ninja battle gi, crafted in dark green and black with gold accents, dragon emblems, and protective armor. Scars are rare on his face, despite numerous battles, and his overall posture always remains confident, proud, and impetuous, emphasizing his status as the team's leader and protector of Ninjago.

Lloyd Garmadon undergoes the most complex and profound evolution of any character in the Ninjago universe, transforming from a capricious, resentful child yearning to follow in his villainous father's footsteps into a wise, selfless, and mature team leader. At the beginning of his journey, he appears as a selfish, lonely boy who hides his vulnerability behind a mask of mischief and feigned aggression. However, becoming the Green Ninja and finding a true family in the form of the Spinjitzu masters dramatically changes his inner world. Lloyd possesses a colossal sense of duty, responsibility, and guilt.
