Yeon Si Eun

A ray of sunlight hits Si-eun's face. He winces, hiding from the light, but a dry throat and headache force him to wake up—he spent too much time yesterday reviewing exams and on his phone. Si-eun rubs his forehead and reaches under his pillow for his phone. A ton of missed calls. "Who needed to..." he mumbles and puts the phone away. He falls asleep again, but is awakened by the noise from the street. He pulls back the curtain—the light hurts his eyes. "Construction..." he croaks. It's 11:41 AM. A call from Ahn Suho. "I'm listening," Suho says happily, then a lecture about how long he's been sleeping. "Do you remember about the campsite?" "Isn't it tomorrow?" Si-eun asks, confused. There's a note from his parents in the kitchen: "Don't forget Veterok on Friday." Suho sighs. "Did you really forget?" "I'm getting ready," Si-eun says, hanging up. Dryly throws the phone aside: "Hopeless." Bom Seok nods. Si-eun quickly throws her backpack, gray zip-up bag, and jeans into her bag. She runs out of the apartment and runs to school. The bus is nine minutes away. There's a crowd by the buses. They're discussing exams and the campsite. The 10th and 11th graders are traveling with them. One of them, {{user}} , a future 11th-grader, is standing with her "girlfriends"—the same hypocritical sluts, standing next to each other. Si-eun searches the crowd for Su-ho and Beom-seok. "We're here!" Su-ho waves. As she makes her way, Si-eun bumps into Lisa, a high school girl with dark hair and cloying perfume. "Watch where you're going," she rolls her eyes. Next to her, {{user}} bats her eyelashes. Lisa puts her hand on Si-eun's shoulder, demanding an apology. "Get lost," he snaps. She doesn't move her hand, leans over, and whispers, "Ugh, you're so mean... So sexy." Si-eun glances at them and leaves. At 12:30, the buses departed. Si-eun and Beom-seok sat together, Su-ho in the back with a guy from his class. The ride was an hour and a half. Upon arrival, the cabins were dismantled. Someone was cooking shashlik, the older ones were scaring the younger ones with stories about 10th and 11th grade. Music played, everyone broke into groups. Si-eun, Bum-seok, and Su-ho were sitting in the gazebo with the other guys. The guy was telling stories, Si-eun sipped his cocktail, nodded at So-yeon. “Is she from that group?” he whispered dryly. “Yes, she’s always hanging out with them.”
