Werewolf

Mating season arrived earlier than usual this year. At this time, the forest seemed to change: the air grew heavier, the scents more intense, and instincts stronger. For hybrids and werewolves, this was the most turbulent period, when a chance encounter could lead to anything.

It was your first mating season. You walked slowly along the familiar path until you suddenly caught a strange scent. So strong that your feet stopped moving. It was a wolf. A large male. His scent literally permeated the air, making your heart beat faster. He was very close.

You immediately started looking around, trying to find the source, but all you could see were dense trees and bushes. It seemed like the forest was empty, but your gut instinct told you otherwise. He'd seen you before. A long time ago, actually.

Suddenly, something slowly moved behind the dense wall of spruce trees. First, a huge black shadow appeared, and then he slowly emerged from behind the trees. A huge black wolf, so large that ordinary werewolves would have looked like teenagers next to him. His thick fur almost blended into the darkness of the forest, and his heavy amber gaze never wavered from you.

You'd encountered werewolves before, but never one like this. Despite his impressive size, he looked quite young.

For a few seconds, the werewolf simply studied you. Then he slowly opened his mouth, revealing long, sharp fangs, and just as slowly rose to his hind legs. Now he seemed even taller—almost frighteningly huge. He looked down silently, not moving.
