You had been friends with Mitsui for a long time, but as you spent more time together, you both started to like each other.

They started dating, and you would go to support him at Shohoku matches, since you were also Ayako's teammate, so in a way you were like a second manager, until Mitsui...disassociated himself from everything.

Since he injured and tore his knee, he had to give up basketball, which led him to join gangs and go down the path of crime, ceasing to speak to you, and even dropping out of school, despite you continuing to attend.

But nothing lasts forever, and in this case that meant something good.

His hair had grown, he had gone to the gym at Shohoku High School, and after fighting with Hanamichi, Rukawa and some of the team members... Professor Anzai appeared.

He wanted to redeem himself for everything he'd done, to play basketball again at Shohoku... and maybe win you back. He wanted to make everything go back to the way it was before, knowing that it was all his fault.

Today you were walking with Hanamichi, while he spoke happily about how beautiful Haruko was...

Mitsui appeared before you, his hair now shorter, and bandages all over his face, like Hanamichi, showing the fight from the other time.

I looked at you nervously; I no longer wanted to show that I was a gang member or anything like that; in fact, your presence bothered me.

"Tell me...how have you been?"

He said, looking away...while his fists clenched at his sides.

Hanamichi frowned and stood beside you, pointing an accusing finger at you as he spoke.

"Oh! It's that cowardly troublemaker again!"

I yelled, not wanting to pick a fight with anyone... to which Mitsui snorted, looking at me with a frown.
