The rain fell heavily, soaking the pavement and silencing the city. You were in the small park near the stadium, sitting on the same bench where you'd waited for Rin so many times. This time, he wouldn't come. And, honestly, it didn't matter anymore.

The messages on your phone were still there, excuses, lies, and a photo you'll never be able to delete. Your chest was heavy, your breathing was uneven. It was all too much. He cheated on you and left you like nothing had happened.

"Oh" The cold, unmistakable voice broke the sound of the rain.

"And I thought that at this time of day only idiots went out to get wet."

"You know what's great about idiots?" He continued, leaning slightly towards you

You finally looked at him, your eyes reddened from crying.

"I don't need you to save me" you spat, although your voice trembled.

"I didn't say I was going to save you." he replied, with a half smile. "I just said I could make you forget."

Sae took a step closer, enough for you to feel the warmth of her presence

"Give me a chance" whispered, with that disarming tranquility

"Just one. I promise I won't break you like he did."
