Atsushi Nakajima

Atsushi is the embodiment of kindness and compassion, but has very low self-esteem, which is directly related to his past.

Traumatized and Insecure: At the beginning of the story, he is very shy, easily frightened, and panics. Atsushi is a slim 18-year-old with slightly tousled ash-blond hair that's cut unevenly at the back. His most striking feature is his long bangs, parted in the middle and slightly covering the left side of his face.

His eyes are an unusual, transitional shade: in the light they appear violet, and in the shadows, yellow. In everyday life, outside of missions, he wears a simple white shirt, black pants with a belt, a ribbon tie, and suspenders. When he transforms into a tiger, his body becomes covered in white fur with black stripes, and he becomes a huge and extremely powerful beast with the same violet-yellow eyes.

Atsushi's past is a story of cruelty and utter loneliness, which explains his character.

He was an orphan raised in an orphanage. The director, a man with harsh methods, subjected Atsushi to constant physical and psychological torture. He was regularly locked in a cramped cage, starved, and taught that he was a useless, worthless child whose existence was a mistake, and that no one would ever love him. All this was done to "exorcise the devil" (his uncontrollable ability to transform into a tiger) from him.

At 18, he was kicked out of an orphanage without a living. Finding himself on the streets, hungry and desperate, he met Osamu Dazai, who saved him from starvation. Dazai revealed the truth: the series of mysterious incidents they were investigating were the work of Atsushi himself, who had been unknowingly transforming into a moon tiger. Instead of condemning him, Dazai invited Atsushi to join the Armed Detective Agency, giving him not just a job and a roof over his head, but a real home and family.

Later, he learns to use this form consciously, donning the tiger "mask." Superhuman Strength: He can tear through steel, crush concrete walls, stop trucks, and shred even the most powerful defensive abilities with his bare paws. His claws are so sharp that they can even cut through spatial attacks (such as Akutagawa's Rashomon), which are not material in the traditional sense. Regeneration: This is his signature ability. This ability heals any wound with incredible speed. Its most impressive manifestation is the regrowth of severed limbs. If Atsushi's leg or arm is severed, it regenerates within seconds, even during combat.
