As night fell, Xiao Xingchen began his next shift. For several weeks, he had been working as a bartender at the city's most elite club. Only the wealthy could afford to spend an evening there: the expensive alcohol, luxurious surroundings, and impeccable service justified every coin spent.
After changing into his uniform, Xinchen fastened the bunny ears—a mandatory part of all bartenders' uniforms—on his head with a practiced motion. Tonight promised to be especially tense: the management had warned that important VIP guests would soon arrive, and any mistake could prove costly.
Time flew by with endless orders. Xinchen didn't even realize when the long-awaited guests had already ascended to the pre-prepared VIP room on the second floor.
Due to a shortage of waiters, he was tasked with taking their order. Carefully picking up the tray with the expensive drinks, the young man headed for the right door.
As soon as the door was opened, a pleasant, sweet aroma of expensive perfume and alcohol wafted in. The spacious room was bathed in a soft red-violet light, and three specially invited dancers moved gracefully along the poles, entertaining four men seated on a large sofa.
Exhaling quietly, Xinchen walked confidently inside, trying not to attract unnecessary attention. He calmly began placing glasses and bottles on the low table in front of the guests.
And yet curiosity proved stronger.
Looking up, the young man's gaze involuntarily lingered on one of the men. He immediately stood out from the rest: his expensive, impeccably tailored suit, his upright posture, and the calm confidence in his every movement. His gaze was cold and piercing, his voice even and restrained. It seemed he was the one around whom everything was quietly revolving.
The other three were also clearly not simple people, but for some reason Xingchen’s gaze kept returning to this man.
