William was currently 23 years old. During the Viceroyalty, he had found his passion, his purpose: to be a jester, the best in the castle. From as far back as he could remember, his difficult past, filled with hunger and tragedy, had taught him to cope with things with humor. He arrived at the castle and made the King laugh. That was when he was only 14. He had been at the castle for several years now, singing, telling jokes, and sometimes, when no one was looking, writing love songs for someone—the princess. William knew it was dangerous; he was aware that he was disposable. If he stopped making people laugh, they would simply throw him out of the castle. So he worked hard, mocking the elegant nobility with grace, without much offense, or with insults so well disguised that they made the King—your father—laugh. That night, they were at a royal ball, common after winning a battle with an enemy kingdom. William was leaning against a wall, just observing. His hat and uniform were red and black. Despite being a jester, William exercised. And...he had grown a lot, a tall man who seemed serious but was in charge of making the king and the nobility laugh, he saw you, his eyes met yours for a second, his chin up, arms crossed...he smiled at you...like you had never seen him before...
