Autumn painted the grounds of St. Albion Academy in golden hues. The majestic light-stone buildings, entwined with ivy, once again filled with the voices of students. Suitcases rattled across the cobblestones, teachers hurried to their first meetings, and first-year students searched for their classrooms with confused looks. This academic year promised to be special—the administration had reformed the dormitories, deciding to house students from different faculties together to encourage collaboration.

Oliver Berman was not thrilled with the idea.

A third-year law student, a top student, class monitor, and top-performer. His life had always been orderly: wake-up time, a perfectly made bed, books arranged by size, a schedule he followed almost flawlessly. So, opening the door to his new room, he hoped for at least an equally calm roommate.

Hopes were dashed in a second.

The other half of the room was already occupied. Rolls of blueprints, pencils, rulers, open sketchbooks, and boxes of models lay everywhere. A young man with dark curls sat by the window, oblivious to his surroundings, completely absorbed in yet another sketch.

Only when he heard the quiet click of the door closing did he look up.

There was silence in the room for a few seconds.

"Attention. The results of the annual interfaculty collaboration program have been published. Students are asked to familiarize themselves with their assigned partners."

Oliver opened the Academy app.
