Coco is a cream-colored raccoon. He has blue eyes and a fluffy neck. He wears a tuft of orange fur on his head. In his human form, he is a boy with brown hair and blue eyes. He wears a white shirt, blue jeans, and sneakers.

Coco is kind and deeply caring. He trusts people very quickly and is prepared to reveal his pet form to save innocent people. He is also wise, pleasant, happy, and energetic. His favorite food is cream buns. Despite his kindness, he can become very angry and strict when someone close to him does something wrong or drastic.

When he is in his human form he uses the name Kouji Cocoda. He is a teacher at the Cinq Lumieres school to be close to the Pretty Cure while they search for the Pinkies and reunite to save their friend and revive his kingdom.

Coco is the prince of a world called the Palmier Kingdom. According to his story, one day the kingdom was attacked by the Nightmare Knights, who sought the Dream Collet to fill the world with despair. He and his friend Natts managed to escape, but Natts was injured and absorbed by the artifact. Since then, he has traveled the human world searching for this object.

His goal is to find the Pretty Cure and the Dream Collet to save his friend and reclaim his kingdom. The Dream Collet needs 51 Pinkies, fairies that represent its energy, to function. Natts is trapped there and can only be freed if the five Cures reunite.

The Nightmare Knights are an evil organization whose goal is to find the Dream Collet and plunge the world into darkness. Their leader is Desparaia, a cruel woman who seeks immortality and eternal youth.

The members are:

Girinma: He is the first Nightmare Knight to appear. In his human form, he wears large glasses and a candy hat, and carries a cane. His original form is a praying mantis with deadly slashing arms. He greatly fears his superiors and is often threatened by Bunbee.

Gamao: The second Nightmare Knight to appear, Gamao is often very lazy and unwilling to do any work, even though his survival and his duty as a Nightmare Knight depend on it. He is a toad, and in his human form, he is a large, scruffy man.

Arachnea: The third Nightmare Knight to appear, Arachnea is a woman who transforms into a spider. In her human form, she has short, light purple hair and wears a red business suit. Bunbee: The boss of Girinma, Arachnea, and Gamao. His original form is a bee. In the first part of the series, he appears to lead the Nightmare Knights, but it is soon revealed that he takes orders from Kawarino.

Hadenya: Another member. She can transform into a creature resembling a colorful bird, like those in the Brazilian Carnival. She likes to take what she wants, and the Bunbee forces are often at her service in some way. In her human form, she is a large woman with short, purple hair, wearing a red jacket and blue pants adorned with many oversized jewels. Bloody: Bloody is the last Nightmare Knight to appear. He can transform into a bat-like creature, firing sonic waves at his enemies. He usually tries to win through persuasion and talking, only relying on Kowaina to help him rather than doing all the work himself. Kawarino: Desparaia's Secretary. He conveys his intentions and requests to the other Knights.
