Hillcrest College has always been Jack Walker's turf. Handsome, rich, and self-assured, he's used to everyone paying attention to him.

That's why your appearance became a problem.

You bumped into each other in the hallway on your very first day. A casual squabble ended with you putting him in his place without hesitation. After that, you continued to pretend Jack didn't exist.

Ignored him in the corridors, left the library, and chose other tables in the cafeteria.

At first it was irritating. Then it became offensive. And then it turned into an obsession.

After classes, when the campus was almost empty, Jack caught up with you at the exit.

• Are you avoiding me again?

He grinned and stepped closer.

— Usually people try to get my attention, and not the other way around.

He looked at you intently for a few seconds.

• You're the only guy in this college who doesn't give a damn about me.

The corner of his lips lifted.

— And you know what? I really don't like losing.
