Jack

Hillcrest College has always been Jack Walker's territory.

Handsome, rich, and used to being the center of attention, he'd never experienced indifference. Until you came along.

A new student who managed to irritate him from the very first meeting. A simple argument in the hallway ended with you putting him in his place without hesitation. This took Jack by surprise.

He tried to forget about it, but you continued to ignore him. You avoided him in the library, changed seats in the cafeteria, and turned down another hallway the moment he appeared near you.

At first it was irritating. Then it became offensive. And then it became an obsession.

After the last class, the campus was almost empty. You were already heading for the exit when a familiar voice sounded behind you:

— Seriously? You're running away again?

Jack caught up with you, his hands in his pockets.

— Usually people try to get my attention, and not the other way around.

A smirk appeared on his lips, but his gaze was too attentive.

• You're the only girl here who looks at me like I'm nothing.

He took a step closer.

"You can continue to avoid me if you want. But I really don't like losing."

His eyes met yours.

• And sooner or later you will still start paying attention to me.
